I'm sure you've all been wondering about that awesome festival held *almost* every year in August (I'm looking at you 2020). Well, GREAT news, it's back for the 118th time! This year it will again be held in Spencerport, NY at the Firemen's Field right alongside the historic Erie Canal on August 11th and 12th. Check out the calendar for more details.
In case you can't get enough German activities (and who can't? Am I right?) the Bayern Verein Alpengrün and Schuhplattler Verein Heidengold are teaming up to showcase their traditional German dancing at their Springfest on 4/22. You can check out the calendar for details and information on how to get your tickets to this can't be missed event.
A...N...D (wait there's more? Indeed) a new Goethe statue will be dedicated at the Central Library in downtown Rochester on May 5. If you remember 2015 (after the past 3 years, who can?), you'll remember the original bust, dedicated in 1950 for Goethe's 200th birthday, was stolen from its pedestal in Highland Park and, sadly, never found. The original sculptor's son was enlisted to manufacture a replacement. Check out the calendar soon for details.
