Short Days, Long Nights and Pumpkin Spice!

It's that time of year when things start to slow down for us after the VERY busy Oktoberfest season. I hope that all of you were able to get out and enjoy our Christkindlmarkt earlier this month. Our venders had lots of wonderful items for sale, and the kitchen filled our bellies with some delicious grub.

There are still a few events coming up before we hit that thing called the New Year in January. So, check out the calendar for all the upcoming events. It gets updated frequently. So, don't forget to keep checking. We have a fabulous Christmas concert coming up from our Germania Singers and perennial favorites Marianna and Joe Reinschmidt are still playing at Swans Deli on Parsells Ave at the end of each month. If you feel like traveling, Hofbräuhaus Buffalo is holding a Chirstkindlmarkt on weekends in December.

And now I just want to take a moment to focus on the upcoming holiday season. I hope that you have every reason to celebrate and be thankful. However, I know the holiday season isn't easy for everyone, and for some it can be absolutely horrible. If you are among those who get the "holiday blues" (what a terrible name, by the way), please reach out to someone, anyone if you need help. There is no need to suffer silently; resources are available. I know that this doesn't really have anything to do with our clubs or FGAS, but it is this blogger's personal PSA to everyone.

Please have a safe, happy Thanksgiving.
